In 2006, the state designated the Adirondacks' newest motorless area, the Round Lake Wilderness. Stretching from Sabattis Road to the lower Bog River, this tract combines newly acquired lands on Round Lake with older public lands including Trout Pond. Round Lake is a perfect canoeing destination with 11 designated campsites. This area is featured in the new edition of Discover the Northwestern Adirondacks, which is now available.
